About Us
Columbia St. Mary’s, sponsored by Ascension Health and Columbia Health System, is an organization comprised of three hospitals, 65 community clinics, The Columbia College of Nursing, a partnership with the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin, and four Urgent Care Centers. We have all joined together to care for individuals and families throughout Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Sheboygan counties – with more than 160 years of service to individuals and families in these communities.
As part of our mission to nurture and foster the communities we serve, Columbia St. Mary's strives to practice good corporate relationships with companies and individuals with whom we conduct business. We are strongly committed to encouraging productivity and economical growth of small, historically disadvantaged businesses.
The Columbia St. Mary's Supplier Diversity Committee was created in 2006 with this goal in mind. Our target is to identify and forge more quality, lasting partnerships with "minority", female, and disabled veteran owned enterprises. The committee is a timely response to the rapidly changing economic picture of our state and country. Realizing that more businesses are started by people of color and women than any other group, our committee is in constant search for a more inclusive supplier base. This effort benefits our organizations and the communities by adding to the economic development and strengthening business partnerships.
The Committee handles supplier research for our leadership, provides resources for all interested parties and ensures implementation of the initiative throughout the organization. We are a member of the Metropolitan Supplier Council and Wisconsin Supplier Diversity Council and maintain a strong relationship with the Milwaukee Minority Chambers of Commerce and other related organizations.
