Volunteer Services Mission Statement
We are a partnership of people – both paid staff and volunteers – who are committed to supporting the Columbia St. Mary’s mission of making a positive difference in the healthcare status and lives of individuals and our communities with special concern for those who are vulnerable.

Columbia St. Mary’s Volunteer Services is recognized throughout the organization and in the community as a true leader in providing quality volunteer opportunities that meet the needs of volunteers, patients, and visitors. How Do I Become a Volunteer?
At Columbia St. Mary’s, Volunteer Services requires you to accomplish the following prior to any placement:

• Submit a volunteer application packet
• Attend a volunteer orientation session
• Complete a successful volunteer interview
• Complete the caregiver background check
• Provide two references
• Complete the volunteer health assessment process (proof of immunity to rubella, rubeola, and varicella)
• Complete a successful TB skin test
• Complete a successful drug screening
