Why Choose Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Institute?

Studies indicate that people who are admitted to hospital-based rehabilitation programs show more improvement over shorter periods of time than people who receive rehabilitation services in a nursing home. We are able to provide greater physician involvement, more intense specialized therapy programs, and more highly trained staff.

Because we are part of Columbia St. Mary's new state-of-the-art facility, our patients have access to 24 hour-a-day medical imaging, lab and surgical services, should the need arise. Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Institute is CARF Accredited

Sacred Heart has provided innovative and nationally recognized rehabilitation since 1965. Accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Hospitals (TJC) and the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), we are able to offer highly specialized, intense inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation services.

Our Approach to Rehabilitation

We are totally committed to honoring the uniqueness of each individual we welcome into our facility. Recognizing that no two people experience a disabling condition the same way, we pride ourselves on creating individualized treatment that addresses not only physical needs but also encompasses the lifestyle, desires and goals of each individual and family member. We see what is possible for each person and focus on finding ways to make it happen.

Rehabilitation is a group effort. It works best when the patient, their family and rehabilitation professionals work together. To ensure consistent, high-quality care and services, we assemble a physician led rehab team that remains with the patient throughout his or her stay. This team, which includes the patient and family, combines the skills of the following multi-disciplinary team: The Sacred Heart RehabilitationTeam Members

  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Social worker/case manager
  • Certified rehabilitation nurses
  • Occupational therapist
  • Physical therapist
  • Speech and language therapist
  • Respiratory therapist
  • Recreational therapist
