Taking Control

 

One-in-eight. That's how many women are at risk for breast cancer in their lifetime. At Columbia St. Mary's, we stress self-awareness, an understanding of genetics and family history, and early detection as a woman's best defense. An annual mammogram plays a major role in this defense against breast cancer. In fact, the American Cancer Society recommends that women begin receiving an annual mammogram at age 40.
