The public is invited to the eighth annual Octagon Art Fair on Saturday, June 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus, 13111 N. Port Washington Road, Mequon. The event will benefit the Breast Health Center at the Ozaukee Campus. To date, more than $87,000 has been raised for the fight against breast cancer.
The juried art fair will feature more than 100 artists exhibiting their fine arts and original crafts. Artist awards totaling $1,200 will be presented to six Artists of Excellence and six Artists of Merit. The event will take place rain or shine, and free parking will be available on the grounds. Admission will be $3 per person, and children under 12 will be admitted free.
The Octagon Art Fair will feature a silent auction with donations from participating artists as well as uniquely decorated terra cotta pots and galvanized watering cans, donated and decorated by Columbia St. Mary’s employees and community members. A special silent auction of “Red Hats” decorated by members of the Ozaukee County Red Hat Society will be held at the Gift Shop tent.
All proceeds from the silent auction and art fair will benefit the Breast Health Center, which provides quality care and education for women and men.
This year’s Honorary Chairs are Sue Ann Thompson, president of the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation, and Carole Meekins, co-anchor of Today’s TMJ 4.
Each year, more than 100 volunteers contribute to the art fair’s success by donating their time to plan and staff the event.
