The Kacmarcik Education Resource Center opened on April 2, 2003, at the Ozaukee Campus as a free resource for health and wellness information for patients, their families, and the surrounding community.
The center, part of Columbia St. Mary’s Medical Libraries, was made possible by a gift to St. Mary’s Foundation Ozaukee from Jim and T.J. Kacmarcik and their families. The Kacmarciks established the center as a comfortable setting for people to obtain credible health care information.
The center is located on the first floor of the Campus’s Schroeder Pavilion, off the Doerr Atrium waiting area.
Current hours: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
CSM Librarian Nancy Morris is the primary staff person.
Visitors to the center will find easy-to-understand information on a variety of health topics—from prevention to treatments—in a variety of media including books, videos, pamphlets, and computer resources. The latest information on general health and wellness, medical conditions, diagnoses, and treatment options will be available. Some items, such as books and videos, may be checked out.
People seeking information following a visit to a doctor or the hospital may find the center especially helpful.
The Kacmarcik Education Resource Center is here to ensure that reliable health information is always available, whatever the question or concern.
