St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee will celebrate the completion of its new addition with a public open house on Sunday, March 3rd from noon until 4:00 p.m. Area residents and their families are invited to tour the beautiful new, state-of-the-art facility and see first-hand the latest in health care technology and treatment.
“We are elated that construction is complete and are anxious to share our excitement with area families,” said Therese Pandl, executive vice president for hospital operations. “It seems we were just breaking ground for the new addition and now we are celebrating its opening. The trend toward increased use of outpatient services, changing demographics and a steadily growing population in Ozaukee and northern Milwaukee communities made the expansion and renovation essential. St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee has grown with the community and is ready to meet the health care needs of area families in the years ahead.”
From the minute they enter the impressive two-story Doerr Atrium, visitors will notice the patient focus of the new facility. The emergency services department has nearly doubled in size. Separate registration and waiting rooms for outpatient services on each floor make the registration process comfortable and efficient. State-of-the art surgical suites, medical imaging, GI Lab, and cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation units offer the latest technology in a warm and caring environment. “From where they park and register to the latest technology and equipment, we’ve worked hard to anticipate the
needs of our patients. Our facility revolves around making their visit a comfortable, healing experience,” said Pandl.
Since it opened in 1994, St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee has become the hospital of choice for area families. The $38 million expansion includes the 107,000 square foot addition and the renovation of 36,000 square feet of existing hospital space. The new addition is opening on schedule and the expansion of existing facilities is expected to be completed in December 2002.
