Columbia-St. Mary’s is pleased to honor 28 corporations, 14 foundations and numerous individuals who have supported the expansion and renovation of St. Ben’s Clinic for the Homeless at an Open House for the Clinic on Tuesday, May 15, 2001. Columbia-St. Mary’s is a major sponsor of the Clinic located at 1027 North 9th Street, Milwaukee. The Open House will begin at 3 p.m. with the program at 3:45 p.m.
St. Ben’s Clinic for the Homeless helps more than 5,600 persons each year. Through its sponsorship of the Clinic, Columbia-St. Mary’s is able to provide outreach and preventive health services at locations such as meal programs, rooming houses, homeless shelters, and day programs for people who are at high risk for many illnesses. People who are found to be in need of care are seen at the Clinic site, located on the grounds of the St. Ben’s Community Meal Program. Volunteer physicians and nurses, working with paid staff provide high quality primary care to people otherwise unable to access care.
