Columbia St. Mary's Regional Burn Center set to Stop, Drop & Roll into History

WHAT: Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center 50th Anniversary Celebration, including scores of area children conducting Milwaukee’s Biggest Stop, Drop & Roll Demonstration at 10:30 am — Water Tower Park, Milwaukee. The celebration will also include an awards ceremony at 10:00 am, Ladder 5 of the Milwaukee Fire Department, a giant fire truck slide, Dalmatians, a raffle, fire safety games and more.
WHO: Attending will be former patients of the Regional Burn Center, former and current physicians, nurses and staff of the Regional Burn Center, general public and area children to participate in Milwaukee’s Biggest Stop, Drop and Roll demonstration at 10:30 am.

WHY: Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center is celebrating 50 years as the destination for burn care throughout eastern Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and northern Illinois. When it opened in 1959, the Regional Burn Center was the first burn center in Wisconsin and one of only four such centers in the nation. During its 50 year history, the Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center has helped hundreds of patients overcome their burn injuries and has been a leader in innovative care for burn patients. The Regional Burn Center will host the prestigious World Burn Congress in 2012.
