Columbia St. Mary's CEO helps ease transition under Affordable Care Act

Mark Taylor became president and chief executive officer of Columbia St. Mary's in February 2011 and oversees a health system with 4,500 employees, hospitals in Milwaukee and Mequon, 62 clinics and revenue of $702.5 million in its fiscal year ended June 30, 2012.

Columbia St. Mary's is part of Ascension Health, the country's largest nonprofit health system. Ministry Health Care became part of Ascension Health this year and Ascension now is the second-largest health system in Wisconsin.

Taylor also is chairman of the Milwaukee Health Care Partnership, a coalition that is overseeing efforts to help people enroll for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Its members include the chief executives of the five health systems in Milwaukee County, the Medical College of Wisconsin, community health centers as well as city, county and state health agencies...
