The time to prepare for a disaster or emergency is before it happens.
Whether a tornado, winter storm, power outage or wild fire, it’s
important to have the knowledge and tools that are necessary to
successfully navigate a disaster or emergency situation.
Individuals and families living in Ozaukee County are invited to Community Preparedness Day on Saturday, May 2. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA (465 Northwoods Rd., Port Washington).
Those who attend will have the opportunity to build emergency kits* with donated supplies, develop a family emergency plan and learn about local, regional and state resources. In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to view the Ozaukee County incident command vehicle, fire trucks, police car, ambulance and more! Attendees can also enter a drawing to win a free weather radio.
This event is being sponsored by Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee, Ozaukee County Emergency Management, Ozaukee County Public Health Department, The Village of Saukville and the YMCA.
*Emergency kits are limited to the first 100 families, one kit per family.
